Sixth Sunday of Easter 5^thMay Acts 10:25-26,34-35,44-48 1Jn 4:7-10 Jn 15:9-17 9.00 Mass - Julie Bolger 11.00 Mass - Ewa Sawicka 12.30 Baptism 6.00pm Mass - People of the Parish Exit Collection : Christian Aid	Dear Brothers & Sisters, Today is the Day of Prayer for Eastern Christians, praying for peace especially in the Middle East. This year the day is especially poignant, given the ongoing suffering in Ukraine and Gaza. May the disciples of Christ in these lands be upheld in faith so they continue in their courageous witness to Jesus. The Ascension of the Lord (Thursday) is a feast of ‘letting go.’ The apostles had to accept that though Jesus was alive he was not present in the old way that they had known but in a new and radical way. We too often have to ‘let go’ of the past so that we can be free to know God’s blessings in a new manner. We have Holy Day Ascension Masses today at 7.00am, 10.15am and 7.30pm. St.John of Avila (Friday) was a saint of reformation times and a great positive influence on the Council of Trent. His popular preaching did much to revive the catholic faith in Spain, and in spite of being accused his heresy, & suffering sickness, he remained joyful to the end. First Communion (second session) comes on Saturday, and we give thanks to God for the generous teachers catechists and sponsors in our parish who help our children draw close to the Lord.
